R2D2 mailboxes

Engadget.com and other sites are reporting that in honor of Star Wars' 30th anniversary, these R2D2 mailboxes will be replacing the familiar blue ones across the nation.

As far as I can determine there has been no official word on this and these Star Wars stamp and mail box reports are beginning to strike me as a some sort of publicity stunt.

We'll see.
